Political influencers play an important role in contemporary social media ecologies. As political influencers are seen as a way for campaigns to promote their messages, their ethics are increasingly coming into focus. This chapter discusses the rise of political influencers, their role and impact in the contemporary media ecology and in political communication, and existing avenues of regulation. The chapter then presents a framework charting the principles of authenticity, autonomy, and acknowledgment toward an emerging ethics of political influencer conduct on social media.
